Keeper of the Seven Keys: The Legacy is the eleventh studio album by German power metal band Helloween, released October 31, 2005. The musicians, Andi Deris (vocals), Michael Weikath (guitar), Markus Grosskopf (bass), Sascha Gerstner (guitar) and new addition Dani Löble (drums, ex-Rawhead Rexx), see this recording in direct context with their 1987 and 1988 classics Keeper Of The Seven Keys parts I and II. The album is a double CD with nearly 80 minutes playing time and comes in a digipack with 6 flaps. Keeper of the Seven Keys – The Legacy leans more towards the genre of Progressive metal than the previous album, Rabbit Don’t Come Easy, which was much more of a Power metal album. It was produced by Charlie Bauerfeind (Blind Guardian, Halford, Rage) and features Blackmore’s Night singer Candice Night on the track “Light The Universe”.

Nile is an American death metal band from Greenville, South Carolina, formed in 1993. Their music and lyrics are inspired by Ancient Egyptian mysticism, history, religion, and art as well as stories by H. P. Lovecraft.

Nile – Those Whom The Gods Detest

“Those Whom the Gods Detest” is the sixth studio album by American death metal band Nile. The album was released on November 3, 2009, in North America, and on November 6, 2009, in Europe through Nuclear Blast. It was produced and mixed by Neil Kernon, with Erik Rutan handling the drum recording. The album debuted at #160 on Billboard 200 list in United States.

The cover artwork, a depiction of the Egyptian Pharaoh Akhenaten, was brought to realization this time around by Michal “Xaay” Loranc, whom Karl Sanders had previously worked with on his second solo record Saurian Exorcisms.

“Twilight of the Thunder God” is the seventh studio album by the Swedish melodic death metal band Amon Amarth. Twilight of the Thunder God was released in September 2008.

“The title of the 2008 album by Amon Amarth is Twilight of the Thunder God. It will feature guest appearances by Lars G”ran Petrov of Entombed, Roope Latvala of Children of Bodom, and the cello metal band Apocalyptica. Along with the release of the album will be an eight-page comic strip based on Norse mythology which will be released by magazines from all over Europe. Amon Amarth will go on a North American headlining tour in October 2008, with support from Ensiferum, Belphegor, and a melodic death metal band from Tampa named The Absence. The band toured the earlier part of 2008 as support for the well known band Slayer throughout Europe in the Unholy alliance Chapter 3.”

In an effort to focus on some good metal albums released in 2010, this morning I have for you Bane of Isildur and their album Black Wings. For those who don’t know, yes, Isildur’s Bane is the “One Ring” from Lord of the Rings.

Bane of Isildur are from Sydney, Australia and were formed in 2006.

Falling under what some would call melodic death metal in ways and just death metal in others, their themes include war, Norse Paganism etc…

Blind Guardian is a German power metal band, originally known as Lucifer’s Heritage, formed in the mid 80s. The current members are Hansi Kürsch, André Olbrich, Marcus Siepen and Frederik Ehmke (who replaced original drummer Thomas “Thomen” Stauch in 2005).

The album starts out with a driving opening track that reminds us this is definitely no longer the same sludgy slow sound of the past. Grand Magus has a power and empowering momentum in their songs now that lifts us from the trenches of sorrow and into the battle of life, where we shall not fall, but triumph.
