Zoroaster is a sludge metal band from Atlanta, Georgia.

Matador is the fourth studio album released from the sludge metal band Zoroaster.

Called “truly magical” by Revolver and “Epic” by Popmatters, Atlanta’s Zoroaster has delivered their most genre bending release to date.

Featuring a live set that features vintage amps piled to the ceilings, tons of smoke and ear punishing volume the band’s fan base has grown rapidly over the past year as they toured the US with Gojira, shot their first two videos and firmly positioned themselves to explode from the underground.

This is sludge metal with a mystic almost trance like feel… somewhat psychedelic but still stoner sludge metal. The vocals are almost chants but not really, you have to hear for yourself.

Neptune With Fire is the debut release by Los Angeles-based metal band Ancestors.

Ancestors – Neptune With Fire is a concept album that tells of metaphorical characters (namely Neptune on the title track and Orcus on the first track), and their cosmic, psychological journey through war, celebration, remorse and revelation. The character of Neptune was written as an immortal personification of the mortal man, and for the band, his plight was conceived of as a way of realizing their own epistemological struggles.

Yes, it is two tracks and over 35 minutes of music. Ancestors album Neptune With Fire is perfect for a long rainy day like today.

Woke up this morning and put on some power metal,… but quickly realized it wasn’t what I wanted to hear this morning. I reached quickly for the glowing red cover of Howl – Full of Hell to get today rolling.

Hellish stoner sludge doom metal coming at you with this album. What I like most about this album is how its theme is evil and not psychedelia like so many stoner metal bands. I won’t discuss production here but this album belongs in your metal collection. However, the sludge ceases and the brutality and metal persist throughout. It has its slow parts and upbeat metal blasts.

The Sword is an American heavy metal band that formed in Austin, Texas, in 2003. Since its inception, the band has comprised vocalist and guitarist John “J.
